Book Signing
One of Trexler's own 6th graders, Colleen Newbold, began working with an organization called Develop Africa when she was in 4th grade. She began collecting pencils to donate to the organization so that children in Africa would have something to write with at school. Richlands Elementary School 4th grade teacher James Ryan Orr wrote about Colleen's efforts in a book titled The Pencil Project which is a new release from Amazon. To celebrate Colleen's effort and the release of The Pencil Project there will be a book signing on Saturday, December 16th, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Richlands Branch Library located at 299 N. Wilmington St. in Richlands. Mr. Orr will be there to sign his book and all proceeds from the purchase of his book will go to Develop Africa. Also, there will be a box at the event for any school supplies that people would like to donate to Develop Africa.
